Srinagar, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police today absorbed 425 Special Police Officers (SPOs) permanently in the force for their role in anti-militancy operations.
The Director General of Police, Dr SP Vaid issued the orders for the permanent absorption of these SPOs in the Police force. The SPOs who have been absorbed in the Police have done commendable job in the fight against militancy.
There are around 35000 SPOs in Jammu and Kashmir. An SPO initially draws a salary of Rs 5,000 per month, Rs 5,300 after completion of one year and Rs 6,000 after completion of three years.
The DGP has also cleared Insitu promotion for the lowest paid followers of the police.
