Jammu: A ceremonial Border Personnel meeting (BPM) on the occasion of “67th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China’’ was conducted today at  the Chinese side in Chushul and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector in Eastern Ladakh.

The Indian Delegations were led by Major General Sudharkar Jee and Col BS Uppal while Chinese delegations by Senior Colonel  Zhang Jung Yong and Colonel Song Zhan Li  at Chushul and DBO respectively.

 

The 67th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China was celebrated by exchange of greeting and good wishes and saluting the national flag of China by both the delegations.

This was followed by the ceremonial address by delegation leaders and reaffirming the mutual desire of improving relations at functional level at the border. Thereafter a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Chinese culture and traditional grandeur was organised.

 

Both the delegations interacted in a friendly and cordial environment. The delegation parted amidst bonds of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC.

Both sides also sought to further build on the treaties and agreements signed between the governments of the two sides to maintain peace and tranquility along the LAC.
