‘Hall of Fame’ at Leh has topped the list of five Indian museums which figured in the list of best 25 museums of Asia. This survey is conducted by Trip Advisor. The Hall of Fame Museum of Leh is a living saga of the bravery, valour and patriotism of Indian soldiers who fought battles and performed military services in the high plateau of Ladakh and its mountains. It is a matter of great pride for the people of Leh to have been honored with a Museum that is also the repository of their history. Established in 1986 it also displays the culture and heritage, sacrifice and achievements of the Indian Army in various operations of the Ladakh region. According to our information, over 1,50000 people visit the museum in a year. They include Indians and foreigners as well. Visitors and travelers are reported to have told the media persons that the Hall of Fame is one of the most interesting, educative and informative museums they have seen. The people of Ladakh have a right to be proud of this museum and we expect that the army will put up more museums like that in Srinagar, Udhampur and in Poonch. The upgraded Hall of Fame actually comprises three wings; The War Museum, the War Memorial, the War Cemetery (Shaurya Sthal) and Adventure Park. The Museum contributes not only to the history of the State and the country but also strongly reinforces nationalistic spirit among the people of our country. We salute the army for such a magnificent contribution to the history and culture of the country.
