40 killed as Russian troops attack Ukraine from three sides

UKRAINE, Feb 24: At least forty people have been killed in the military operation launched by Russia on Ukraine. As the United Nations and the rest of the world scramble to put pressure on Russia to cease the attack by threatening with sanctions and retaliation, Russian troops have entered the Ukrainian border.
The conflict began escalating on February 21, 2022 after Russian President Vladimir Putin recognised separatist regions in eastern Ukraine and deployed troops in a peacekeeping role. (Agencies)
