RAJOURI, Dec 28: The police seized 40 bags of BPL ration of CAPD Department from Kotranka area of district Rajouri today and arrested three persons in this connections.
A police spokesman said that a police naka party led by SHO Kotranka, Rafiq Khan intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK02AP/ 6145 on Chasana-Budhal- Rajouri road during mid night. The driver tried to sped away by breaking barricades but alert cops did not allow them to flee.
During physical check of the vehicle 40 bags of BPL (CAPD) ration was seized. All the three accused persons could not reply properly about the transportation of this food stuff. They also loaded some gunny bags of maize just to dodge the police. Earlier, they claimed that they were carrying locally produced maize to Rajouri but later the cops found wheat bags loaded in the truck.
The police seized the truck along with ration and arrested all the three. They were identified as Mohd Tariq, son of Govt ration dealer- Abdul Rashid, resident of village Dandot in Chasana area of Mahore, his associate Jameel Ahmed, son of Mohd Amin, resident of Dandot and driver-Mohd Khalil, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Kandi. A case was registered against them. They disclosed that ration belonged to Dadote area people of Mahore in Reasi and was pilferaged from Government depot by the dealer Abdul Rashid and his son. The police started investigation into the case.
