4 soldiers rescued from Wullar

SRINAGAR, May 17: Gusty winds uprooted the trees and caused damage to houses across Kashmir this evening while four soldiers were rescued in Wullar lake and tourists and locals were evacuated to safety in Dal lake.
Four soldiers were rescued after their boat capsized due to a windstorm in Wullar Lake in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
An official said the incident took place after a strong windstorm hit the parts of North Kashmir this evening.

They soldiers were part of a cordon and search operation when their boat capsized following which a massive rescue operation was launched by the army. The four troopers have been rescued and were rushed to the hospital.
Earlier, in Srinagar’s Dal Lake, tourists and locals were evacuated to safer locations as a precaution after strong winds were blowing in the area.
The gusty winds uprooted trees in many area of Kashmir and also damaged several houses as their roofs were blown away by strong wind.
