JAMMU, Oct 26: Four shops suffered damage when a fire broke out this afternoon in Gole Market area of Gandhi Nagar.
“The fire started from a Dosa shop today at about 3 PM and before it was controlled it also caused damage to nearby shops,” a police official said, adding, as per the reports, the fire broke out due to leakage of LPG from the rubber pipe which was connecting gas cylinder with the stove.
The official said that no loss of life and injury to anybody was reported from the mishap; however, 4 shops including a garments shop owned by Sham Lal Gupta, a mobile shop and a fast food shop under the name and style ‘Ashoka Fast Food’ suffered damage, besides the Dosa shop from where the fire started.
“As soon as the fire was noticed, nearby shopkeepers informed the Fire Services and within 10 minutes fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames completely within 10-15 minutes as the fire had not entered inside the shops.
