4 Rajouri villages without power supply for 3 weeks

RAJOURI, Mar 31: Four villages in Thannamandi tehsil of district Rajouri are without power supply for the last over three weeks.
Reports from Thannamandi said that power supply at Alal and Hasplot villages has been snapped for the last over 20 days as both the electric transformers are lying out of order. The electric transformer of Alal village has been abandoned on the road at the village and no PDD official of the area has bothered to remove this transformer during last two weeks. Its entire oil has also leaked.
A villager,Mohd Akhtar said that the matter was brought to the notice of concerned PDD officials at Thannamandi but no body took cognizance of the matter. He said the people of the area are badly suffering due to power shut down.
Another report said that the power supply at Begunada village in Thannamandi has also been snapped for the last 25 days due to damage caused to the local transformer. Entire area is suffering.
Village Azmatabad in Thannamandi is also without electricity for the last over three months. A local of the area, Mohd Shakeel said that the village transformer is lying out of order since long. The locals told Lineman of the area and village Sarpanch also talked to an official at PDD office Thanna some time back, but the concerned officials have not restored the essential supplies to the area.
Shakeel said the local Administration was also informed about the issue but nobody has taken cognizance. The village Panchayat members have sought intervention of DC Rajouri and Chief Engineer PDD, M&RE Jammu about the matter. They demanded that officials concerned must be punished for the negligence towards their duty.
