SRINAGAR: Four guests from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) were among the 10 persons who travelled in Line of Control (LoC) Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of POK today.
Four PoK residents, including a woman and a child arrived at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of LoC in Uri sector to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition, official sources said.
They said a Kashmiri, who had gone to PoK, also returned to his home in the bus, operating since April 7,2005 after India and Pakistan government agreed to allow travel of state subjects from both sides of the LoC on Travel Documents, instead of International passport.
Two Kashmiris, including a woman, crossed over to PoK to meet their relatives, they said adding that the three POK residents, including a woman, who had arrived here in the previous buses returned to their homes.
With today’ cross border travel, 18 residents of PoK had arrived here while 22 Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the LoC in 2016. (AGENCIES)
