SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Sept 25: Four more youngsters from J&K, including a Kashmiri Pandit girl have cracked IAS examination, the result of which was declared by UPSC last evening.
Two youngsters who have been working hard for the last several years from Kupwara and Anantnag districts of Kashmir, have finally been able to crack the UPSC Civil Services Exam, while the residents of their respective hometowns are celebrating the feat.
Iqbal Rasool Dar from Jaggarpora area of district Kupwara has qualified the exam by securing All India Rank 611 while Waseem Ahmad Bhat from Duroo Anantnag has also cracked the exam by taking All India Rank 225.
While talking to Excelsior, Iqbal said that striking a balance is the key systematic hard work coupled with a certain degree of luck, as per Iqbal, also determines the outcome of the efforts. Click here to watch video
Iqbal has been able to crack the prestigious Civil Services exam in his third attempt and took coaching for the same out of J&K. With an Engineering degree in his kitty, Iqbal said that he cannot express the joy in words. “I did not give up at all and remained focus and the results are in front of you,” he said.
He completed his primary schooling from his home village after which he shifted to Srinagar for further studies, while he completed his Engineering degree from a college in Pune.
Waseem Ahmad Bhat from Duroo, Anantnag said that he was preparing for the Civil Service exams for the last two years and has finally been able to achieve the milestone.
“It is a tough exam, but can be cracked with determination and effective guidance; while I was at it for the last few years. I have finally been able to make it and that’s an amazing feeling,” he said.
He added that the people of Kashmir are talented and that they should work hard and utilize their potential to achieve their set goals. “Set your goal and work for it passionately, that’s the mantra,” he added.
Shivia Hangloo, a Kashmiri Pandit girl cracked Civil Services Exam, second time. Last year she got selected in Indian Information Services but she continued her hardwork and achieved All India Rank 261 this year.
Her family originally hails from Hangalgund (District Anantnag), Kashmir and is presently residing at Roop Nagar, Jammu. Shivia completed her Primary education from Jammu and passed her B.Tech from PEC, Chandigarh. With her sheer determination and hardwork, she has once again made the KP community proud and she has become an inspiration for youth, especially young girls, struggling for their career.
Amir Bashir, son of Late Mohd Bashir, resident of Salwah in Mendhar (Poonch), at present Bathindi in Jammu, also cleared IAS exam with All India Rank, 625.
He is presently working as Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax at Jammu and had cleared IAS during 2017 with Rank 842. He made his first attempt during 2015 and then second during 2016, but continued his struggle for better ranking. He is due for joining IPS. Her sister Rehana Bashir is also an IAS officer posted in West Bengal. She had qualified during 2008.
Bashir lost his father during 2006 and her mother, a Government employee, groomed these two children and fully supported them to become IAS.
