RAJOURI, Aug 30: Four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit, who were involved in a hawala racket in Rajouri district, have been booked and detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) by Rajouri Police.
They were associated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and have been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said.
They have been identified as Sajjad Ahmed Malla son of Shakeel Ahmed Malla, resident of Maldera, Tehsil Chitragam district Shopian, Mohd Arif son of Mohd Yousif, resident of Kotli Bagla, Rajouri, Khurshid Ahmed Thokar alias Tujmal son of Ghulam Rasool Thokar resident of Hiffkuri, Tehsil Chitragam district Shopian and Ajaz Ahmed Sofi alias Ghazi Baba son of Ghulam Ahmed Sofi, resident of Bun Bazar Batapora, Shopian.
A dossier in this regard was submitted before District Magistrate Rajouri by Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas and District Magistrate issued order for booking them under PSA.
It may be mentioned here that these OGWs were arrested by Rajouri Police on May 12 along with Rs one lakh hawala money meant for the supply to HM outfit in district Shopian.
During investigation of case, it came to fore that these OGWs were in constant touch with Saddam Paddar and Zeenat-Ul-Islam, commanders of HM outfit, who motivated them to visit Rajouri to bring hawala money and made hideouts to motivate youths in a bid to revive militancy.
However, before they could cause any damage in furtherance to their mission, the network of the OGWs was smashed by Rajouri police and all of them were arrested.
Meanwhile, after order was issued by the DM Rajouri, all of them were detained under Public Safety Act and lodged in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu today by a police team led by SI Mohd Naseer under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Rajouri Govind Rattan and Additional SP Rajouri Mohd Yousaf.
