4 gamblers, bootlegger arrested

JAMMU, Mar 11: Miran Sahib Police arrested four gamblers and a bootlegger viz seized a tractor trolley engaged in illegal mining.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib conducted raid in field in Darsupur village and arrested four gamblers along with Rs 5021 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Tilak Raj, son of Charan, Madan Lal, son of Harbans Lal and Bharat Bhushan, son of Som Parkash, all residents of Darsupur and Danish Kumar, son of Kewal Kumar, a resident of Ganday.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Meanwhile, Miran Sahib Police during checking at Rattian arrested a notorious bootlegger, who was identified as Chander Bhushan, son of Rampal of Rattian. Thirty bottles of illicit liquor was seized from the possession of the arrested notorious bootlegger.
A case under FIR Number 21/2021 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation initiated.
However, a tractor trolley engaged in illegal mining has also been seized by Miran Sahib Police. The vehicle was carrying construction material in violation of the directions of the High Court J&K.
Geology and Mining Department has been informed for necessary action under law.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Aijaz Wani made the arrest and seized the tractor trolley under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
