4 drug-peddlers nabbed with 1700 capsules

JAMMU, Sept 5: A joint team of Bus Stand and City police station teams today arrested four drug-peddlers including a kingpin and recovered a large quantity of intoxicants from their possession including 1700 capsules.
The accused were arrested after a hot chase near KC Crossing, police said.
The arrested accused have been identified as Pankaj Kumar, son of Gulzar Singh, Gulzar Chand, son of Kirpa Ram, residents of Kabir Basti, Jammu, Vikram Singh, son of Hari Singh R/o Rehari Colony and Amit Sharma son of Jawala Prakash R/o Purkhoo Camp.
Recoveries made from the possession of accused included1700 intoxicant capsules, 18 bottles of liquid and 120 tablets.
Police said Pankaj Kumar was already wanted in five to seven cases of drug-peddling and was operating as kingpin of the racket.
A case against all the accused has been registered at Bus Stand police station under NDPS Act for further investigations.
Police parties headed by Probationary Sub Inspector Deepak Thakur made the arrests under the supervision of SHO Bus Stand Sushil Gupta and SHO City Bishnesh Kumar.
