4 civilians, 2 security men hurt in grenade attack

SRINAGAR, May 5: At least four civilians and two security forces personnel were injured in a grenade attack in Pakherpora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district today.
Militants hurled grenade towards joint party of 181 Bn CRPF and police in Pakherpora during which two forces personnel were injured. They have been identified as ASI of Jammu and Kashmir Police Ghulam Rasool alias Dilawar and CRPF constable Santosh Kumar.

Four civilians also received splinter injuries including Shafeeq Ahmad Najar and Irfan Ahmad Wani who were evacuated to Sub-District Hospital Pakherpora for treatment.
They including two women aged 40 and 50 who were referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Soon after the attack, joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF cordoned off the area and intensified searches to nab the attackers.
