4 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers held

SAMBA, July 5: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers, district Police Samba foiled yet another bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
A police party of PS Samba while performing vehicle checking duty at Nud, intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02BP-8086 which was moving towards Srinagar via Mansar-Udhampur Road.
During checking of the vehicle, four cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. The accused driver identified as Mohd. Sadiq, S/o Abdul Gani along with his associate Junaid Ali S/o Abdul Aziz both R/O Gara Kamad, Hiranagar have been arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 172/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation taken up.
