3rd Constitution Day: Chief Secretary reads out Preamble to the Constitution

JAMMU: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas along with Administrative Secretaries and officers on Monday read out the ‘Preamble’ of the Constitution of India at the Civil Secretariat here to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26th November, 1949.

As part of the 125th birth Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar celebrations, ‘Constitution Day’ was celebrated on 26th November, 2015, for the first time. Since then, 26th November, is being celebrated as ‘Constitution Day’ every year.

This year, 26th November, being a holiday, the ‘Preamble’ to the Constitution of India was read out today in the Civil Secretariat and other offices.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary exhorted the officers to make sincere and sustained efforts in taking the values as enshrined in the Constitution of India and the fruits of social, economic and political development to the very grassroots of society in the state.
