SRINAGAR : All examinations scheduled for today have been postponed in the Kashmir valley in view of the prevailing situation following strike called by separatist organisations in protest against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) top commander in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir last evening.
Burhan Wani, most wanted commander of HM, carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakhs and two other militants were killed by security forces in Kokernag area in south Kashmir, evoking massive spontaneous protests in the Valley.
The Board of School Education (BOSE) has announced the postponement of 11th class examinations which were scheduled to be held today. Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has also postponed all examinations scheduled for today, said a spokesman.
Internal examination for class 12 of many government Higher Secondary Schools have also been postponed in view of the prevailing situation.
The BOSE said fresh dates for examination will be announced later. However, the educational institutions in the Kashmir valley remained closed due to summer vacation.(Agencies)
