39 injured in Uri road mishap

SRINAGAR, Apr 17:  At least 39 persons were injured after a passenger bus overturned in Salambad area of north Kashmir’s Uri Sub Division today.
A minibus bearing registration number JK01Y 0421 was on its way to Uri town from Kamlakote when the mishap took place near Salamabad Tourist Reception Centre after the driver lost control on the vehicle and it overturned. The bus  broke the guardrail and landed on the paddy fields.
All the injured were rushed to the Sub District Hospital Uri for treatment. “Thirty nine injured passengers were treated at Sub District Hospital Uri. A few were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for advanced treatment. One patient with a severe head injury was shifted to the SKIMS,” Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, said, adding all the injured are stable.
A Police spokesman said that an SRTC bus today turned turtle at Jabla area of Uri in Baramulla district resulting in injuries to 32 passengers.
The spokesman said that 20 injured have been shifted to SDH Uri while as 11 injured have been shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.  ”One critically injured person has been referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment and a case has been registered in Police Station Uri in this regard,” he said.
