JAMMU, Apr 1: Gharota Police seized 388 logs of illegal timber and detained one person.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Gharota led by SHO Inspector Khayati Maan Khajuria intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AS-9535.
During checking, police team seized 388 logs of illicit timber from the truck and detained the driver, who was identified as Lal Chand, son of Bichitar Ram of Sumah Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
During questioning, driver of the said vehicle failed to produce Form-25 and permission related to night movement for transporting the illicit timber (Khair wood).
DFO Jammu (Authorized Officer) was informed for further necessary action under law.
