JAMMU, July 19: Nagrota and Sidhra police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ rescued 37 bovine animals and arrested five persons.
As per police sources, during checking at Ban Toll Plaza, a team from Nagrota Police Station intercepted three trucks bearing registration number JKO2AK-7167, JK02AH-9585 and JKO2AE-7811 coming from Narwal side.
During checking, police rescued 33 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Anwar, son of Kalu of Bathindi Jammu, Rehmat All, son of Shah Mohammad of Dwara Ragoora Jammu, Changez Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi of Kachwan Kokarnag Srinagar and Arshad Ali, son of Kaka Ali of Dwara Ragoora Jammu.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Sidhra Police Post laid a naka on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a Mahindra Pick Up bearing registration number JK02BJ-5398.
During frisking, police rescued 4 cattle from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Bagh Ali, son of Ghaia, a resident of Bawla Chak, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba.
Cases under FIR Numbers 171/18 and 172/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Deepak Pathania and Incharge Sidhra Police Post SI Shariq Bhat rescued the cattle and arrested the accused under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania, SDPO Yashbir Singh, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
