JAMMU, May 25: For the first time in the history, 360 students including 235 girls and 125 boys shared 20 positions in Class 10th exams in Jammu division, the result of which was declared by Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (BOSE) today.
The first position has been secured by Pratiksha of BVM High School Ram Nagar, district Udhampur with 98.4 per cent marks, whereas the second position has been jointly secured by Kiranpreet Kour of Caramel Convent High School Kunjwani, Nitin Pandita of SL MEM Model HS School Anand Nagar and Avantika Jamwal of Little Flower Convent High School Udhampur.
The third position has been secured by Deepanshu Sharma of St Mary Convent School Smailpur.
A total of 51,442 students have been declared passed taking the pass percentage to 62.24.
Out of total 360 students, only two students from Government institutions managed to get their names in the merit list. Ritika Sharma of Government High School Malhar secured ninth position by taking 96.8 per cent (484 marks), whereas Mahinder Singh of Government Higher Secondary School Udhampur secured 20th position by achieving 473 marks (94.60 per cent).
Rest all positions were secured by private educational institutions.
