36 cases settled in Lok Adalats in Rajouri, Ramban

JAMMU, May 6: A total of 36 cases were settled in Lok Adalats held today in Rajouri and Ramban districts.
At Ramban, a Lok Adalat was held by bench headed by Kalpana Revo, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ramban, (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ramban along with Ajay Sharma, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ramban as member of the bench.
All advocates of District Ramban participated in the Lok Adalat who represented the petitioners and respondents. As many as 30 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat and 16 cases were disposed off amicably. An amount of Rs 19,70,000 was awarded as compensation to the petitioners in these cases.
A Lok Adalat was also held in Court Complex Rajouri under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri. Two benches were constituted for Lok Adalat, One bench was headed by Inder Singh. He was assisted by Rajinder Singh, Additional District & Session Judge, Rajouri. The second bench was headed by Mehmood Choudhary, CJM Rajouri. He was assisted by Sarfaraz Nawaz, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate, Rajouri.
In this Lok Adalat, 13 MACT cases were settled through mediation and reconciliation and an amount of Rs 21,12000 was awarded as compensation. Moreover, five crime and two civil cases were also settled in the Lok Adalat and a fine of Rs 4500 was realized on the spot.
