REASI, Aug 12: In a firm action against the sale and use of banned nylon ‘Gattu’ thread, District Police Reasi today recovered 34 rolls of the prohibited material from the possession of Amit Kumar, son of Darshan Kumar from Ward No. 11, Matyal, Katra.
The recovery was made by a team from Police Station Katra during a special drive to curb the illegal stocking and sale of nylon string, which poses serious threats to human life, birds and the environment.
In this regard, FIR No. 228/2025 U/S 223 BNS has been registered at P/S Katra and investigation has been initiated.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Vipan Chandran.
