34 bovines, 3 vehicles seized; one arrested

RAJOURI, May 22: The police seized  three Tata Mobile vehicles and 34 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler in this connection from two different places in district Rajouri last night.
Official sources said that Chingus police seized two Tata Mobile vehicles and seized six bovine animals during naka on the highway last night and 15 bovine animals which were being carried on foot towards Mughal Road for further transportation to Kashmir Valley. The vehicles were seized but smugglers managed to escape.
Rajouri police led by SHO Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of SSP Rajouri,  Rajeshwar Singh  during naka near Kheora seized a Tata Mobile vehicle and seized six animals. The vehicle driver Mohd Farooq, resident of  Palangar in Thannamandi was arrested. His associate however, managed to escape. Seven more bovine animals were seized when two persons  were traveling with them on foot near the river to avoid police naka. While smugglers managed to escape taking cover of darkness, the milch animals were  seized. Cases were registered in this connection.
