30,000 candidates attend TA recruitment drive in Baramulla

SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Nearly 30,000 candidates participated in the recent recruitment drive for the 161st Territorial Army (TA) in the Sheeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An army spokesperson today announced the successful completion of the TA recruitment drive, held from November 11 to 17.

“The event saw unprecedented participation and engagement from aspiring candidates across the region, who braved inclement weather to pursue their dreams of serving the nation,” he said.
The spokesperson highlighted the drive’s record turnout, emphasizing the strong interest and dedication of the youth towards serving the country. “The overwhelming response not only highlights the strong sense of patriotism among the candidates but also underscores the community’s unwavering support for the armed forces and the positive development trajectory of Kashmir,” he added.
Approximately 30,000 young men demonstrated their enthusiasm and commitment by attending the recruitment rally. “Despite challenging weather conditions on some days, the candidates displayed remarkable resilience and dedication in their pursuit to join the Territorial Army,” he said.
The entire recruitment process was conducted transparently and adhered to the highest recruitment standards. “The Territorial Army, known for its discipline and commitment, ensured the process was smooth, fair, and efficient,” the spokesperson noted.
He added that the local community played a crucial role in supporting the event, providing necessary facilities and resources to ensure its success, “The Territorial authorities expressed their gratitude to the local administration, whose support made the recruitment drive a grand success.”
The spokesperson said that the selected candidates will now undergo a written test, moving closer to joining the prestigious Territorial Army and continuing its legacy of bravery and service to the nation.
