POONCH, July 11: Continuing efforts to curb the menace of drug peddling and drug- addiction, Poonch police today seized 30 kg poppy straw (Bukki) from a truck on Mughal Road today.
Official sources said that police party from Behramgalla Police Post led by ASI Maqbool along with Romeo Force recovered 30 kg of poppy straw at Poshana naka on Mughal Road from the peddler namely, Harjeet Singh, son of Joginder Singh, a resident of Haridwar, Gurdaspur in Punjab concealed in a truck bearing registration No. PB05AB/ 5858.
In this connection case a case FIR No.176/2019 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Surankote and further investigation is going on.
