JAMMU, Aug 22: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi S R Gandhi today awarded three years Rigorous Imprisonment to Madan Lal, son of Ganga Ram of Kotli Manotrian Reasi in a kidnapping case.
“It is a case in which prosecutrix was kidnapped a day prior to her marriage. The act of the accused could have caused a great disrespect and loss to the family of the prosecutrix. There is every likelihood that the marriage arranged by the parents of the prosecutrix might not had seen the proposed day leaving not even her family but also the community shell-shocked”, the court observed.
“Consequentially, the prosecutrix could have suffered the prospects of a better marriage. Keeping in view all the facts and circumstances of the case the imprisonment for three years shall sub-serve the ends of justice”, the court said while awarded three years Rigorous Imprisonment to the accused.
