UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: In a tragic road accident, three youths from Doda district were knocked to death when their motorcycle was hit by a truck near Garnai on National Highway, here late last night.

According to the Police reports, the motorcycle bearing registration number DL9SBF-1630, was on its way from Udhampur to Jammu when it was hit by a truck (JK02B-5504) at Garnai near Traffic Naka Point on the National Highway.
The accident took place last night around 0030 hrs and two of the victims had died on the spot while third one succumbed to his injuries on way to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
SHO Rehambal, Nishad Ahamed said that after getting information about the accident, he along with the Police party rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors declared two of them as brought dead.
The third one, who was in critical condition, was referred to the GMC Hospital Jammu, but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Jammu.
The deceased have been identified as Vimal Kumar, son of Ram Nath of Mulla, Tehsil Thatri, District Doda, Shahzad Hussain, son of Abdul Aziz of Chanias, District Doda and Mubashir Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohd of Gundna, Doda.
The trio was working with a private firm engaged for installing digital metres in Udhampur.
The police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the dead bodies to family members of the deceased persons.
Police have registered a case in this connection and arrested driver of the truck involved in the accident.
