JAMMU, Jan 24: A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father in RS Pura.
Police spokesman said that, three year old girl Shalu (name changed) was playing in the verandah, when his father Sunil Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar of Agrechak, RS Pura allegedly took her to secluded place and raped her.
He threatened her of dire consequences, spokesman said, adding that after reaching home, the girl narrated the incident to her mother, who along with other family members lodged a complaint with Police Station RS Pura.
The girl was handed over to family members after medical examination and the accused has been arrested, spokesman added.
A case under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
