RAJOURI, Apr 11: In a crackdown on the illegal mining activities, the Rajouri Police have seized three vehicles that were found involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals without valid documentation.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Vinay Kumar (IPS Probationer), as a part of the department’s continued efforts to curb illegal mining in the district.
During the drive, three vehicles were intercepted at different locations. One of the vehicles, bearing registration number JK11F-2220, was being driven by Mohit Sharma, a resident of Saranoo. Another vehicle, numbered JK11D-4713, was driven by Mohd Fareed from Potha. The third vehicle, JK11G-7435, was being operated by Tariq Hussain, a resident of Dharhali Bridge, Rajouri.
All the drivers failed to produce valid documents for mineral transportation, following which the police took swift action and seized the vehicles on the spot. Strict legal action has been initiated against the violators under the relevant provisions of law.
