3 trucks with 30 bovines seized on Mughal Road

POONCH, May 8: The police seized three trucks loaded with 30 bovine animals at Bafliaz on Mughal Road and prevented a bid to smuggle these cattle to Kashmir.
Official sources said that during the intervening night of May 7 and 8, a police party of Police Station, Surankote, led by Insp Jatinder Singh Sambyal laid a naka at Bafliaz, Surankot under the supervision of SSP Poonch, Dr Vinod Kumar. During checking police party seized three trucks bearing registration numbers JK16A/2799, JK12A/2197 and JK11A/2507 and rescued 30 bovine animals.
Four persons namely -Shafayat Hussain, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Thannamandi, Riya Ahmed, son of Mohd Rafiq of Behrote, Thannamandi; Mohd Tazeem, son of Mohd Latief from Behrote and Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Totta Morha, Behrote, Thannamandi were arrested by police.
The police registered case FIRs No. 138, 139 and 140 of 2021 against them U/S 188 IPC, 11 PC Act. They were using Mughal Road for smuggling of bovines to Kashmir despite the fact that road is still officially closed. Further investigation was in progress.
