KATHUA, May 8: District police today recovered Charas like contraband in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua and seized the contraband on spot and arrested the accused.
A team of Police Station (PS), Kathua under the Supervision SSP Kathua R C Kotwal while on patrolling duty near Changran area apprehended one suspected person namely Sunny Kumar, son of Pawan Kumar of Jakhbadh Bighma.
On frisking, 50 grams of Charas like contraband recovered from his illegal possession. He was later on arrested by the police party on spot and contraband item was seized.
A case vide FIR No.229/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act got registered at Kathua Police Station and further investigation was taken up.
General public of the area appreciated the efforts of Kathua Police.
District Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. “We request people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 100 with police for the cause. Your identity will be kept confidential”. Police said.
