3 traffic cops among 9 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Nov 7: Nine people including three traffic police officials were injured today in separate road accidents happened in different parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, a Sub-Inspector and two constables of traffic police were injured when their traffic patrolling van was hit by a tanker near Battery Chasma at Ramban. In the mishap, Sub-Inspector, Jatinder Singh received minor injuries while the two constables identified as Vijay Kumar (38) son of Bihari Lal, a resident of Rajouri and Rayaj Ahmed (41) son of late Najir Hussain, a resident of Chenani, received serious injuries. All the three were shifted to District Hospital Ramban from where seriously injured constables were later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital.
A road accident also happened at University Road when a two speeding mini-buses bearing registration numbers JK02AK-2099 and JK02AJ-6919 collided with each other. In the mishap, four people received serious injuries while three other got minor injuries. The seriously injured persons identified as Chanchala Devi, wife of Uttam Raj of Bagh-e-Bahu, Jasmeet Kour wife of Ajeet Pal Singh, Vipan Singh son of Charan Dass of Kathua and Ranjeet Kour (60) wife of Joginder Singh of New University Campus, Jammu have been shifted to GMCH while the other three who received minor injuries were discharged after providing first aid at Gandhi Nagar Hospital. A case of rash driving against the drivers of both the vehicles has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station.
A youth namely Anoop (24) son of Raj Kumar and resident of Resham Ghar also got injured when he was hit by a scooter at Krishna Nagar area of city outskirts. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Another road mishap took place at Domail falling under the jurisdiction of police post Jhajjar Kotli when a truck on its way to Jammu collided with a bus that was going to Katra from Jammu. In the mishap the truck driver Goginder Singh (50) son of Waryan Singh, a resident of RS Pura received serious injuries following which he was shifted to GMCH for treatment. A case in this regard has been registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli.
