JAMMU, May 16: Jhajjar Kotli police under ‘Operation Avtaar’ arrested three thieves and recovered stolen tipper from their possession.
As per police sources, on April 25 this year, a complaint was lodged by Manohar Lal, son of late Om Parkash, a resident of Dansal lodged a complaint with Police Station Jhajjar Kotli stating that during the intervening night of April 24 and 25 his tipper bearing registration number JK02AB-5448 has been stolen by some unidentified persons, which he had parked on roadside in Dansal.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 34/18 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police rounded up several suspects for questioning and finally arrested three persons, who had stolen the tipper.
The accused have been identified as Firdous Ahmed, son of Mohammad Muslim alias Imran of Pul Doda, Mohammad Ashraf alias Lambu, son of Fajji of Panthal and Kamal Kishore, son of Chuni Lal of Pallanoo Khoon Majalta.
During questioning, the accused disclosed that they have taken the stolen tipper to Srinagar for selling and accordingly a team was deputed to Srinagar, which recovered the stolen vehicle. A car bearing registration number JK14-7526, which was used in committing the offence was also seized.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashveer Singh Salathia, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
