3 special trains from Jammu today

JAMMU, Aug 30: Even as the rail traffic in Jammu Division remained completely suspended for the fifth consecutive day due to misalignment on Bridge- 17 between Kathua and Madhopur, the Northern Railway today ran two special trains from Jammu Station to ferry passengers while three special trains will be run tomorrow.

According to an official spokesperson, these two special trains, Jammu Tawi Dr Ambedkar Nagar reserved special (04672) and Jammu Tawi-Chhapra reserved special (04670) left the Jammu Station at 15:15 hrs and 17:15 hrs, respectively on Saturday.
Similarly, spokesperson added, Northern Railways will run three special trains for ferrying passengers from Jammu Station on August 31.
These trains are 04674 (Jammu-New Delhi via Kathua, PTKC with JAT departure 18:00 hrs, 04676 (Jammu-MAS Chennai via New Delhi with JAT departure 16:00 hrs and 03152 (Jammu-Kolkatta via Moradabad, Lucknow, Banaras with JAT departure 14:00 hrs.
Meanwhile, except the two reserved special, there was no departure or arrival of any train at Jammu Railway Station for the fifth consecutive day following damage to railway infrastructure due to flash floods and erosion of soil.
Total 51 trains to and from Jammu were cancelled today while one was short terminated and two others were short originated.
On Sunday, 59 trains will remain cancelled. These include 25 from here and 29 to Jammu, Katra and Udhampur.
As already reportedly by the Excelsior in today’s edition, normal rail traffic is unlikely to get restored soon even as repair work on damaged railway bridges is going on war footing.
However, Vande Bharat service between Katra and Srinagar remains uninterrupted.
