MENDHAR, Apr 2: Some thieves burgled three shops at village Sangiot, under Gursai police jurisdiction in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch last night.
Reports said some unknown burglars barged into the shops of Mohd Razak, Mohd Khursheed and Abdul Hamid last mid night at Sangiot and decamped with cash and articles from there. The owners who also hail from the same village came to know about the matter in the morning.
The locals of the area also gathered there. The shutters had been broken by the thieves. They informed Gursai police and the police party led by SHO (Prob DSP) Gursai, reached the spot. The police registered a case and started investigation. There was great public resentment against police in the area.
