JAMMU, Oct 16: Three schools were found locked in Mandi block of district Poonch when Zonal Education Officer, paid surprise visit to the area during mid-day today.
While the school time is from 10 am to 4 pm, these two Middle level and one Primary school, were found locked between 12.15 pm and 1 pm today when ZEO Mandi, Nazir Ahmed Danish paid visit. Mr Danish found Govt Middle School, Kharpa, Govt Middle School Wand Loran and Govt Primary School Bala Bela locked during mid day.
The ZEO talked to the local Panchayat members and other elderly people of the area and took feed back about the teachers posted there. He charge-sheeted the teachers, stopped their salary and recommended their suspension/ departmental action to the CEO Poonch and Director School Education, Jammu.
During checking at Govt Primary school Khet, the ZEO found that Mid Day meals was not being provided to the students for the last four months. It was also found that teachers had collected food items meant for the school children. He also took serious note when he found teachers of Govt Middle School Barha Chharh and GMS, Wand Kanuiyan sitting idle in a room while classes were found unattended. He stopped their salary and charge-sheeted the teachers.
