JAMMU, Jan 23: A woman was among three persons who died of COVID-19 in the Jammu division today while cases across the region continued to hover around 1800 as 44 officials in the courts of Doda and Kishtwar including three Presiding Officers tested positive for the virus.
There was no let up in COVID positive cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh as well with 283 persons reporting positive for the virus talking number of active positive cases close to 1300.

Thirty two officials in the courts of Kishtwar including two Presiding Officers and 12 officials in the courts of Doda including one Presiding Officer have tested positive for COVID-19.
“Some of them were symptomatic while others were asymptomatic. However, all of them are in stable condition and have been isolated at their houses,” the Health officials said.
Sixteen more personnel at CID Headquarters Jammu, six officials in the office of Chief Election Officer (CEO) Jammu, five in the office of Prosecution, three more officials at Raj Bhawan, one of them a doctor and two officials in the office of Public Works Department were also found infected during the testing.
Fifteen more students at SOS Home in the age group of 5-17 and one official have tested positive for viral infection. A couple of days back, 61 students and an official at the SOS Home Talab Tillo were found infected.
Four CRPF personnel from their 84 battalion headquarters at Chatha in Jammu district have also tested positive for Coronavirus.
Twenty three pilgrims of holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji were found infected on their arrival at Katra Railway Station.
Among three COVID fatalities, two were reported from Jammu district and one in Kathua.
A 79-year-old man from Paloura, who was fully vaccinated while 72-year-old woman from Gandhi Nagar, who was unvaccinated, succumbed to ailments and COVID at the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today.
An 82-year-old man hailing from village Barwal in Kathua district, who was also not vaccinated, died of co-morbidities and pathogen at AK Gupta Hospital in Kathua.
Three fresh casualties have taken COVID toll in Jammu region to 2249 including the highest 1184 in Jammu district, 243 in Rajouri, 158 Kathua, 143 Udhampur, 139 Doda, 120 Samba, 104 Poonch, 68 Ramban and 45 each in Reasi and Kishtwar districts.
Jammu division today reported 1754 fresh COVID positive cases including 1075 in Jammu district, 176 Ramban, 140 Doda, 114 Udhampur, 83 Kathua, 48 Reasi, 47 Samba, 35 Rajouri, 26 Kishtwar and 10 in Poonch district.
With 997 recoveries today, the number of active positive cases in Jammu division stood at 13,233, the highest being 8825 in Jammu district, 940 in Udhampur, 651 Doda, 617 Kathua, 521 Samba, 459 Rajouri, 392 Ramban, 378 Reasi, 295 Poonch and 155 in Kishtwar district.
Corona count in Jammu region now stood at 1,45,953. Among them, 1,30,471 have recovered from the virus while there were 13233 active cases and 2249 casualties.
Meanwhile, spike in COVID positive cases also continued in the Union Territory of Ladakh with 283 new infections reported today including 248 in Leh district and 35 in Kargil district.
Number of active positive cases in Ladakh has now gone up to 1275—1056 in Leh and 219 in Kargil.
Corona cases in Ladakh have reached 24496. Of them, 22,999 have been treated while there were 222 fatalities—164 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
