3 militant associates arrested

Srinagar, Nov 27: Security forces today arrested three militants associates from South Kashmir and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
A police spokesman said that security forces have arrested two militant associates affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen from Awantipora area of Pulwama district and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from their possession.
The police spokesman said that Awantipora police along with 42RR and 130 Bn CRPF arrested two militant associates of HM.
They have been identified as Muzamil Ayoub Bhat, son of Muhammad Ayoub Bhat of Shahabad Kharpora Bala Lalgam Awantipora and Suhail Manzoor Mohand, son of Manzoor Ahmad Mohand of Shahabad Kharpora Bala Lalgam Awantipora.
“Incriminating materials, ammunition including 383 rounds of AK-47 were recovered from their possession. The arrested militant associates were in touch with HM commanders and involved in transportation of arms and ammunition. They were also providing shelter and other logistic support to strengthen militant networks”, police said.
“A case under FIR number 194/2021 under relevant Sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation initiated,” police said.
Meanwhile, Army and police today arrested a militant associate at bus stand Anantnag along with some ammunition.
An official said that Army’s 1 RR and Anantnag police in a joint operation arrested Muhammad Asif Dar, 31, son of Ghulam Muhammad Dar of Hamdanpora, Redwani Bala near bus stand Anantnag.
“Asif was affiliated with LeT (TRF). One AK magazine and 30 rounds were recovered from him,” the official said.
