3 LeT OGWs arrested

SRINAGAR, Sept 3: Police today arrested three Lashkar-e-Toiba militant associates at a check point in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said that based on specific input regarding movement of militants in general area of sub division Pattan district Baramulla multiple check points were established by 29 RR of Army and Police at Kralhar, Nihalpoora crossing and Zangam crossing in Baramulla district.
“During routine checking three persons moving from Zangam crossing to main market Pattan on National Highway on Baramulla road were observed moving in suspicious manner. The individuals were challenged by the personnel at Zangam crossing but they tried to flee on being challenged from the spot”, Police said.
The security personnel cordoned and apprehended the fleeing individuals. On spot frisking and physical search led to recovery of three hand grenades.
They revealed their identity as Abid Parvaiz son of Parvaiz Ahmed Hajam, resident of Andergam Pattan, Javaid Hassan Ittoo son of Farooq Ahmed Ittoo resident of Goushbugh Pattan and Jan Nissar Khaliq son of Abdul Khaliq Ganie, resident of Chanderhama Pattan.
Police said that all three were working as OGWs for Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit.
Other incriminating materials were also recovered. In this regard, case FIR No. 234 /2020  was registered in police station Pattan and further investigation taken up.
