3 ‘khokhas’, one shop gutted in Nowshera

RAJOURI, June 12: In a major mysterious fire incident during last mid night at Nowshera town, three ‘khokhas’ and a shop were totally damaged.

Reports said that initially at around 12.30 am, the fire started from one of the ‘Khokhas’ and then it spread to the two other adjoining structures and a shop. A night watchman noticed the fire and raised alarm. Some cops on night duty also rushed there and they informed Fire Station.
The vehicle could not start as its battery was low. It took long time to arrive. The Army help was sought by the local police. The Fire tender also arrived after some time and the fire men controlled the fire. Three khokhas near Bus Stand Nowshera were completely gutted. They belonged to Pankaj Kumar, Raina Provision store, Tinku tea stall and a private Lab housed in a shop belonging to Sawhney. The loss of property was being assessed but police said it could be more than Rs 50 lakhs as initially reported by the victims. The cause of fire could not be known immediately. A sabotage can not be ruled out, the police said.
