3 from J&K get Jeevan Raksha Padak

JAMMU, Jan 25: Ashok Singh Rajput, Paramjit Singh and Ranjit Chandra Ishore from Jammu and Kashmir have been awarded Jeevan Raksha Padak for saving lives.
Names of the trio among 31 others from different States and Union Territories were approved by the President of India for conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards -2020.
Muhammed Muhasin of Kerala (posthumous) has been awarded with Sarvotam Jeevan Raksha Padak while eight persons have been awarded for Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak.
The Jeevan Raksha Padak is awarded to civilians to reward saving lives from drowning, fire, or mine accidents. It is awarded for courage and promptitude in saving life under circumstances of grave bodily injury to the rescuer.
