3 drug peddlers held with contraband

Srinagar, Mar 13: Police today said to have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Baramulla, a police party led by SHO PS Pattan along with in-charge PP Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan during routine checking at Hyderbeigh Pattan intercepted two persons identified as Adil Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad and Mohammad Ashraf Zargar, son of Gh Nabi Zargar, both residents of Eidgah Colony, Kreeri.
“During checking, police recovered 145 grams of charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said
Similarly, in Awantipora, police party from PP Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Ladermud Reshipora arrested one drug peddler identified as Mohd Ashraf Mir, son of Mohd Ibrahim Mir, resident of Bemina Srinagar and recovered 600 grams of grinded Cannabis from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation set in motion, police said.
