JAMMU, May 21: Gangyal, Sarwal and Narwal Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested three drug peddlers along with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO SI Nayat Ali laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 2 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Rajveer Singh alias Tajinder alias Kaka, son of Charanjeet Singh, a resident of Model Town Gangyal.
A case under FIR Number 43/19 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Sarwal Police Post led by SI Vishaw Partap Singh under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Amit Sangra, SDPO West Amit Sharma and SP City Amritpal Singh laid a naka near Toph Morh and intercepted a person on suspicious grounds.
During frisking, police team recovered 710 grams of cannabis from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Asif Najar, son of Ghulam Nabi Najar of Roshanabad Tehsil Dooru District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 87/19 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
In another similar incident, a team from Narwal Police Post led by SI Khayati Maan Khajuria laid a naka and apprehended a pedestrian along with 2 grams of heroin.
The accused has been identified as Balvinder Singh alias Sunny, son of Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Nanak Nagar Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 143/19 has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
