3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, July 31: Bakshi Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu and Akhnoor Police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 20 grams of heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar laid a naka at Maheshpura Chowk and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CH-6527.
During checking, police team recovered five grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Abhishek Khokhar, son of Sunil Khokhar, a resident of Rajiv Basti, Bakshi Nagar District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Sakinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari apprehended a drug peddler along with 7 grams of heroin.
The accused was identified as Arun Mehra, son of Madan Lal of Ward Number 2 RS Pura, at present Sainik Colony.
A case under FIR Number 74/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation started.
In another similar case, a team from Police Post Jourian led by PSI Karnail Singh under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar during checking at Shunnu Chowk arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered 8 grams heroin from his possession.
The accused was identified as Sharief Husain, son of Lal Hussain of village Harakud Tehsil Halqa Marh District Jammu.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Bakshi Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu and Akhnoor and investigation started.
