KATRA, June 14: Continuing its drive `Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh’, Police today arrested three drug peddlers in separate cases under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station and recovered narcotic substances from possession of the accused persons.
Team of Police Station Katra, during a surprise naka at Auto Stand Katra, intercepted one notorious drug peddler Prithvi Chand son of Chuni Lal of Ladda, tehsil Mongri-Udhampur and recovered 19 grams of heroin like substance from his possession. In this regards FIR number 97/2021 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Katra.
In another success, Katra Police intercepted a truck JK03F 4858 at Moori and recovered 450 grams of cannabis as well as 750 grams of poppy straw from possession of the driver.
The truck was coming towards Katra from Kashmir valley and identity of the arrested driver was established as Hamid Khan son of Babu Khan of Mehari Katra. Case FIR number 101/2021, under section 8/15/21/25 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
Another drug peddling, namely Karamat Ali son of Saif Ali of Paroh Katra was apprehended near Police Check Post Searly during surprise checking and 138 grams of cannabis like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR number 102/2021, under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
