3 die of COVID in J&K, 65 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Three persons died of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir while 65 tested positive and 61 others have recovered from the virus today.
A 55-year-old man hailing from village Lakhari in Ramkot area of Billawar in Kathua district died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
Two COVID fatalities in Kashmir include a 65-year-old woman from Mattan in Anantnag district and an 80-year-old man from Buchpora in Srinagar district.
Sixteen persons tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu region today including nine in Jammu district, six Udhampur and one in Poonch district while rest seven districts didn’t report any fresh case.
Twenty seven persons today recovered from the virus, 17 in Jammu district, five Samba, four Poonch and one in Rajouri district.
Jammu region now has 51589 Corona cases. Among them, only 124 are active positive cases as 50743 have recovered from the virus and there have been 722 casualties.
Highest 371 Corona fatalities have been reported from Jammu district followed by 64 in Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
With two deaths in Kashmir, the fatality count has reached 1219.
Srinagar district with 458 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 174, Budgam 118, Kupwara 95, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 86, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 39.
In Kashmir, 49 people tested positive for Coronavirus.
Those who tested positive include 23 Srinagar, 3 Baramulla, 5 Budgam, 2 Pulwama, 1 Kupwara, 6 Anantnag, 2 Bandipora and 7 from Ganderbal.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 73,070 including 71,306 recoveries and 1,219 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 669 including 545 from Kashmir division.
With 61 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 122,049, which is 97.82 percent of the total cases.
