JAMMU, Dec 14: A three day Agri-Fest concluded in the Chatha Campus of SKUAST, Jammu today. The event was day festival comprising literary, cultural and sports events. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. D.P. Abrol, Dean Faculty of Agriculture.
Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor and patron of Agri-Fest was the chief guest of the valedictory function who in his address appreciated the efforts of Organising Committee and the students in organizing the Agri-Fest as the whole event has been organized by the students and he felt contended with the participation of the students.
Professor Sharma emphasized that besides academics, such events are very necessary for the overall development of the student community and hoped that in the near future such more festivals will be organized in the university.
In his address the chairman of the Agri-Fest, Dr. D.P. Abrol informed the house that this was the first such festival being organized in the faculty of agriculture and assured the students for whole hearted support in such events and motivated students to actively participate in such events. The winners of the various events were also facilitated with the awards and certificates Ali Haider Shah was awarded as the best student organizer of the event.
The officials present on this occasion were Dr. T.A.S. Ganie, Director Education and advisor of the Agri-Fest, Dr. Parshant Bakshi, co-chairman, Dr. Arvinder Singh, organizing secretary, Dr. Lakshmi Kant Sharma, management incharge and Ali Haider Shah, co-organizing secretary of the event were also facilitated with mementos. Dr. Parshant Bakshi, co-chairman Agrifest extended vote of thanks.
Dr. Deepak Kher, Director Planning, Dr. V.K. Razdan, University Librarian, Dr. K.S.Risam, Director Extension Education, Dr. R.K.Arora, incharge KVK, and the scientific staff of SKUAST-Jammu were also present on this occasion.
