JAMMU, Dec 14: A new healthcare facility by the name of Sujok therapy has been created in Jammu which will be inaugurated on the occasion of National Pensioners’ Day being observed in the country on December17.
It is a joint initiative of the Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association, J&K Jammu and Kesar Anirudh Rukmani Memorial Foundation, Dehradun. The facility has been created at the Day Care Centre for senior citizens opposite CGHS Wellness Centre in the Exhibition Ground, Jammu. To begin with, the clinic will remain open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Chief Secretary BB Vyas who will be interacting with the pensioners and senior citizens at the National Pensioners’ Day function at Exhibition Ground will formally launch Sujok Therapy Clinic on December 17 as part of multi-specialty health camp. Specialists in the fields of cardiology, Opthalmology and physiotherapy are holding a free health camp as part of National Pensioners’ Day celebrations. Cardiologist Dr Sushil Sharma will be available for examination and advice.
Prof Kewal Krishan Sharma, a retired scientist, researcher, social activist and Sujok practitioner of Kesar Karm Foundation is the moving spirit for extending this medicine-less health facility in Jammu. According to him, Sujok therapy is credited with cure of problems relating to nervous system, indigestion, respiratory system, orthopedics, blood circulation, psychological disorder and uro-genital disorders.
Prof Sharma had trial run of the clinic for the last two days and tomorrow he would be visiting the old-age home at Ambphalla to treat their inmate for the common diseases and interaction.
