JAMMU, Feb 12: A three day long spiritual retreat of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India began in Yogoda Satsang Dhyana Kendra, Jammu with religious fervour and gaiety.
The retreat began with opening satsang and spiritual discourse by Swami Shrdhananda Giriji of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India stressing the importance of meditation in harmonious physical, mental and spiritual development of mankind.
Swamiji laid emphasis on the scientific techniques of meditation especially the Kriya Yoga prescribed by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganadaji, the founder of Yogoda Satsang Society of India and author of famous miraculous literary marvel “Autobiography of a Yogi”. It is not necessary for one to attend classes or have instructors; the sincere seeker can learn and practice these techniques at home, at one’s own time, through the Yogoda Satsanga Lessons, compiled under the guidance of Paramahansa Yoganandaji. Swami Nirantranandaji of Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu also opined meditation as an effective and sole tool of God communion leading to self realization and soul awakening.
